Faith in God during hard times

You might be having a tough time. It seems like the whole world is crashing down and weighing on your shoulders. You might think "God, why all these things happened to me! I don't want to continue to live anymore! " It is understandable that your life is hard. I want you to know that you are not alone and something good can come from the tough time you're in right now.

You might say "God hate me,why does he forsaken me? " It's all right to feel that way, even the person closest to God, his Son, asked the very similar question when he was hanging on the cross, "My God, my God, Why have you forsaken me?" Even Jesus, the Son of God feel the pain and wondered where God was. You are not alone and God is still there at our lowest point. There's no way that God hates us, because He told us NOTHING could ever take His love away from us. No one, not even your friends your family can make you feel the way God can, with just His love

Here are some Bible verses about God's love.

(1 Peter 5:6-7) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

So it is written and shown that God really love and cares for you .If you are thinking about "God hate me" , well you are absolutely wrong. The love that God had for you was so much and strong that he gave his only son, Jesus to die for our sin on the cross! Nothing can stop him from loving us and nothing can ever separate us from his love.

Romans 8:37-39 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

- Come before him and tell him all your problems and the difficulties or obstacles that you face. Bring all your problems to him. As he promised us that he will carry our burden and give you rest! He want to help you!

In the Bible, you’ll find assurance that God does understand and wants to help you:

He is described as “the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3).

God wants you to talk about your hurts, to "pour out your heart to him” (Psalm 62:8 NLT).

As it is written,

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:28-29)

Remember, this is what God had promised! What do we know about our God? He is a faithful God. He always keeps his promise. He will never break his promise.

(Deuteronomy 7:9)
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

From all these verse we can tell that God is really faithful that he keep his promise. He promise to give us rest !

Take your time to read through lyrics.

But I will summarize it here, we should know that God love is so deep, his mercy is unfailing and faithful. Therefore no matter what we had gone through, we shall trust him as he is faithful and our strength.

God refines us in our suffering and graciously explains why: “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this” (Isaiah 48:10).

We are just like pencil .We will be used by God to do something great .As time pass, you will get blunt and you will need to be sharpen. But during the time of sharpening it is painful. As we are sharpened, we can do great things through God again and leave good mark behind our footsteps.

Also we are just like a sword sharpens by barbarian. Just like God who are molding and sharpening us so that He can see the reflection of himself. Therefore during the times of suffering we get to be more like him.

I had gone through a lot of painful experiences such as academic problem, friends trust issues and relationship problem. I keep blaming God that I think He doesn't care about me. But one day I heard a story from a Christian channel that changed my life and my thinking of life. Here the story:

As a potter, he will take his time moldpotsthe clay. Not every single pot is the same. Some are weak, some are more fragile, some are beautiful and some are stable. After molding, it is not enough because all the pots are still fragile. Therefore, the potter still have to place all the pot on a special room (The room is just an ordinary 4 wall room but there is just a small hole for the potter to enter) .After placing, he would block the entrance with brick so basically there is no longer any entrance or holes. That when the room start to heat up as hot as a furnace. The potter will continuously check the furnace by peeking into a small hole to check the pots condition and the temperature. After a long time, the outcome of the pots is wonderful. All the pots are as strong as you could think.

What I was trying to say the potter is God. He would create every one of us uniquely. He would put us through many difficulties and obstacles in our life so that we can be strong and be more like him when we faced it. It may be painful. We might think God had forsaken us but remember, he is just like the potter who would constantly checking on us, making sure that we can bare it and face what we can but not being our limit. But do we know that God are monitoring and watching over us? We might not feel him just like the pot burning inside the complete buried wall.

Therefore, trust him!

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I would like to share with you this song

Still - Hillsong

Whenever I am sad. Whenever I face obstacles, I would listen to this song. Most of time it will bring tears to my eyes.

From what I understand is that, we need to be still. Our God is just like a Eagle, that we are able to hide under his strong wings. It is also tell us that when all the problems strike you, we will overcome it with God as our God is the God of all the problems and God of this universe. So we need to stand still, not to worry and know he is our God. Also, only through Him we can find true peace to our soul.

I really hope you can let go of your worry in the times of trouble. Let God handle it while you had to trust him that he can give you real peace.

Remember God is bigger than your problem!

Let's pray my friend,

Dear God,

Some days feel too hard. We're hurting. Struggling. Fighting fear and worry at every turn. Thank you in the midst of it all, you haven’t left us to fend for ourselves. Forgive us for doubting you are there. Forgive us for thinking you've forgotten. Forgive us for believing we somehow know the better way.

You are fully trustworthy. You are All Powerful. You are Able. You are Lord over every situation no matter how difficult it may seem. You are Healer and will never waste the grief we carry today. You will use all things for good in some way. Anything is possible with you. Nothing is too difficult for you.

We pray for those who grieve today. We ask for your comfort to surround those who weep. We pray for the peace of your presence to cover our minds and thoughts, as you remind us, the enemy can never steal us out of your hands. He never has the final say over our lives. We are kept safe in your presence forever, whether in life or in death.

We thank you that your ways are higher than our ways and your thoughts are bigger than our thoughts.

We lay it all down at your feet, every burden, every care. Believe that is the safest place for it to be.

We love you Lord, we need your fresh grace.

In the Powerful Name of Jesus,

Amen.
