Forget about the past

John and his princess, Felicia were going for a road trip. Felicia then requested to drive instead of John. Unfortunately, during their trip, the car crushed into a tree. John said "I make it but She didn't "

It is obviously painful. What would John do? He would live the rest of his live feeling guilty for the death of his princess. "If only I didn't let her drive, she wouldn't ended like this!". It is understandable that we human do gone through pain in the past and what do we do about it? We blame ourselves.

It takes challenge to let things go, things that hurt you, things that make you bleed, things that wounded you, things that suffocate you. It could be the promotion that you didn't get, families, relatives or beloved who left you, woman who betrayed you. It takes courage and enough faith in you to face it so that what in front of you today is greater than what is in your past!

If the things that wounded you is still living in your head then it is living in your life. The biggest problem of all is when you are looking back, you no longer have the courage and energy to live up your moments. Our moments is present that is for us to live our best but if we are distracted by "What is used to be" or "What it could be ", then whatever is in the present will slip past you. You cannot step into the future with the mind of your past.

Therefore you will need to take it!

Make the decision to let it go

You don't wait for things to disappear on their own. You need to make the commitment to "let it go" It is to stop going over the details of the story in your head every time you think of it. Don't try to pretend that you aren't affected by your past. You need to accept it in order to get over the past.

If anything in the present had triggers a strong emotional reaction or remind you of your past. Then decide if you won't to let it go and resolve it by accepting your past. unresolved past experience can prevent you from building strong relationships with your loved one. Therefore, decide to let it go.

Accept that you cannot change what happened

But only how you view it. You can watch a film over and over again but you cannot change the plot and the ending. But you can change the way you handle the ending. If you can't handle you will carry over this emotional pain into your future.

When you are experiencing anger of sorrow about the past, try to remind yourself that hanging on to these negative emotion can only harms you in the end. Always remember that anger can't undo what bad happened. It takes time, I would say. Therefore, your efforts here should be directed toward accepting the past and forgiving those who may have wronged you.

Few years back ,I used to have a huge crush on a girl for almost 4-5years. I tried so hard to win her heart. It even took me 2times rejection but I refused to move on. I would live my life in the sad and emo way everyday. When I look around me,all my friends who experienced rejection moved on so easily. To me, they were not loyalty and their love were not serious like mine. Eventough I got rejected but I consistently tried to win her heart. But always ended up hurting myself. Looking back, why would I? We could have been friends,it is better than nothing right? I would keep blaming myself. I would digged up confession's failure/my past and cried over it.

But now I learned that my friends were not having fun with their relationship at all that they moved on so easily. Instead, they are strong that they are able to move on, forget the past and accept it.

Forgive them and yourself

Forgiveness is away of tangibly letting something go. It's also a way of empathizing with the other person and trying to see things from their point of view.

So forgive ourselves too. It is very important as we may ended up blaming ourselves for the situation just like what John did. There is no reason for you to keep beating yourself up over it. If you can't forgive yourself, how will you be able to live in future peace and happiness.

Look within for the compassion to forgive those who harmed you and the strength to let go.

Realize that you did the best you could at time or tried your best. You had done everything in your power to amend past mistake. Instead of blaming myself ,I had came to a realisation that I had tried everything and my best to win her heart.

Friends

Consider leaving behind friends who keep you focused on the past. Consider spend less time with friends or people who constantly put you down, who make you feel bad or negative habits. Especially friends who make it difficult for you to do what you need to do incorporate difficult past experiences can also be a problem.

If anyone bring up about the past, try to avoid or change topic but if that person consistently asking you, you should let that person know that it is inappropriate to bring up one's past.

On the other hand, hangout and spend more time with supportive and positive friends who appreciate you. Instead, concentrate more on the people who stick by your side.

When you feel like you are slipping again, approach your trusted friend who can help making sure that you are on the right track. If you are getting negative and started to drown in your past again, tell your trusted friend. By doing so, he/she can help you by making you feel supported  and also help you make through tough times.

Not only that, spending time with friends can help you forget your past. Therefore surround yourself with supportive friends.

Love yourself

It is good to start loving yourself again. Think kind thoughts toward yourself and show yourself some compassion. Treat ourselves like our best friend. Give yourself some slack, or give yourself some break by doing the things that you enjoy. You won't even think about your past while having fun. Realize that you are going to make mistake and we all do. So it is okay. Whatever your past is, we all are able to learn and grow from past mistakes.

Put away troubling things away.

For a time, it can be helpful to put away the things that remind you of the unresolved past experiences in a box. Get a box and throw in anything that remind you of a past failed relationship, a job that left you feeling sore or things that remind you the death of your beloved one.

After some time has passed, it is for you to decide whether this box should be tossed or stored. But you might ask "I can't throw the whole restaurant away right? It reminds me of my failed proposal" Of course, but you can make every effort to avoid that restaurant by bit walking past it or driving past it if it really can affect you.

Thanking God for His blessings

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."(Philippians 3:12-14).

Thanking God for His blessings will strengthen us, It is impossible to erase all the memories from your life. Paul was saying he was no longer affected by the past. it is time to move forward.

God can use the situations in the past to make us wiser and stronger. Let us not allow our past to render us powerless, but rather let us give our past to God and thank Him for the lessons learned. We are to run forward, pressing on to what God has prepared ahead for us. He has a plan for each of us. Don’t become entangled in what has happened behind you. Seek God’s help in overcoming the grip the past has on your life.

You cannot move forward if you are still thinking about your past. Can you imagine a track athlete attempting to compete in a 100m dash with an heavy backpack? Yes, he's most likely going to finish the race but he won't finish it at the appointed time that he we was supposed to. Many of us are ready to run our race, we are ready to shoot for the stars, but there is one thing that we need to do first; we need to drop off that backpack full of shame, regrets, unhappiness, mistakes, failure, broken hearts, grudges etc. When you drop that backpack, I promise you that your race will be much easier to run in life.
